Philosophy and Profile

My Working Philosophy
I am committed to helpful and thorough exploration of possibilities for Buyers and for Sellers.
- I work hard for buyers & for sellers.
- I help buyers & sellers explore all of their options.
- I’m in the business to provide people the "information" and "service" they need to make their best decisions about buying or selling real estate.
- I am a full-time professional real estate salesperson and counselor.
I am an independent sales person associated with Nothnagle Realtors as an Associate Broker. I choose to affiliate with Nothnagle Realtors because...
- Nothnagle Realtors provides me the absolute best tools for home marketing & for home searching.
- Nothnagle Realtors provides me the most thorough real estate training and support services.
- In Nothnagle’s organization, I can tap expert in-house resources for all aspects of real estate activity in Greater Rochester, the Genesee Valley, and the Finger Lakes Regions.
- I can conveniently meet buyers & sellers at any of Nothnagle’s 24 offices in the Greater Rochester Area. Buyers & Sellers are never far from a Nothnagle Realtors Office.
My Working Profile
- Born in Great Bend, Kansas.
- Moved with family to Illinois, to Texas, and to Wyoming by age 6. Grew up in Casper, Wyoming with parents, one sister, and three brothers.
- Starting in 1975 and for 15 years thereafter, worked as a lighting & set designer, technical director, and technician in the Theater.
- Graduated from University of Wyoming in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Theater.
- In 1980, married Nancy (currently Livonia Intermediate School vocal and general music teacher) and moved to Charlottesville, Virginia to work as technical director at the University of Virginia
- Went to graduate school at Northwestern University and received a Master of Fine Arts in Stage Design in 1985.
Kaspar - Production Photos
- Set & Lighting Designs for Kaspar selected for inclusion in United States Exhibit at ’86 Prague Scenographic Quadrennial. My design toured the world on exhibit 1986-1988.
- Moved to Geneseo in 1985 and taught as associate professor at SUNY-Geneseo. (While also continuing work as a free-lance lighting and set designer.)
- In 1990, I decided to change. I resigned from the college. My wife, who had lived the vagabond life of theater with me for ten years, was very supportive, but emphatic that we stay in Geneseo. So—I looked at real estate sales as something to do locally and "part-time" while I free-lanced theater design work where-ever it took me. However . . . soon after getting my real estate license, I discovered an affinity and enjoyment for the work. I quickly made the decision to plunge into real estate sales full-time.
- In 1993 I became sales manager of Nothnagle’s Lakeville Office. For 15 years I have split my time between the office (managing other sales agents) and personal sales activity (listing and selling property).
- In September of 2007, I stepped down from management to re-enter real estate sales 100% full time.
Today, Nancy and I still live in Geneseo Village with our two cats Zeb and Zoe. I am active at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church (where I currently serve as Treasurer). Occasionally, I help out with Geneseo Community Players and with the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts (GVCA). I am a member of Geneseo's Rotary Club and a member of the Association for Preservation of Geneseo (APOG).

Today — I work to provide top-notch service and information
Selling and Managing for 19 years has made me much better at providing top-notch service and counseling to my Buyers and Sellers.
Put me to work for you!
Just as I "set the stage" in my earlier career...
Buyers - let me help "set" you up in your new home.
Sellers - let me help you "stage" your home for a successful sale.
Remember... Just ask Howard "How?"
